Natural Capital Advisory is pleased to share that the Environmental Farmers Group (EFG) has entered into agreements with Regenerate Outcomes and Ecometric, following a review of the UK soil carbon market. The assessment, conducted with scientific and legal support, identified both providers as offering robust, farmer-aligned and high-integrity soil carbon programmes.
These partnerships give EFG members access to credible measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) systems, discounted programme rates, and clear contractual terms that protect farmers’ data ownership and decision-making autonomy. By establishing a “measure and re-measure” approach based on intensive physical sampling, the agreements create a strong foundation for generating verifiable, outcomes-based soil carbon credits.
Through this framework, farmers can track soil carbon change over time, use the data to inform management, and, where appropriate, access new income streams by selling credits through EFG’s established buyer network. EFG’s scale provides buyers with a single, trustworthy route to secure significant volumes of UK-based, high-integrity carbon credits, supporting both environmental commitments and commercial resilience.
This development reflects NCA’s commitment to supporting land managers with transparent, science-led and commercially secure natural capital opportunities that reward environmental stewardship and strengthen long-term farm viability.
